Music From The Dark si è affermato come una delle realtà più intriganti nel panorama darkwave e alternative. 

1.Come descrivereste la vostra evoluzione artistica dal primo singolo “My Secret Suicide ” fino ad oggi?

 

      "My secret suicide" e’ stata tra le primissime canzoni da noi composte e tra quelle sulla quale abbiamo avuto subito un riscontro positivo da parte di chi ha ascoltato il brano. 

Include le sfumature per noi vincolanti , Atmosfera oscura e melodia che emerge e si innalza in piena tradizione Gothic-Dark.

Da questa base proseguiamo con uno spirito di ricerca attiva che si espande e si sviluppa ma che mantiene inalterato il mood musicale emotivo decadente che rimane sotto ogni nostra traccia.

 

2.Quali sono stati i momenti chiave, le sfide e le svolte che hanno segnato la crescita del progetto?

 

      Il momento chiave è stato il periodo Covid , in quella situazione di isolamento ho iniziato a risentire oscure vibrazioni che volevano riemergere e la voglia di scrivere è ritornata a impossessarsi della mia anima. 

Da una situazione estremamente negativa  è nato inizialmente l'idea del progetto Music From The Dark.. Ora che il percorso è avviato stiamo cercando di fondere il nostro pensiero, il nostro stato d’animo, le sensazioni intime con le melodie dei nostri brani e su questo ci costruiamo una esperienza sonora che possa lasciare traccia nel tempo. 

 

Nei vostri testi emerge spesso un forte senso di introspezione e un dialogo con emozioni profonde come dolore, desiderio e redenzione. 3.Quanto la musica è per voi una forma di terapia e catarsi?

 

 "MY SECRET SUICIDE" il nostro primo singolo ci teniamo tantissimo e affronta il tema di un suicidio mentale emotivo...non fisico!.

Un ricominciare dal inizio ogni volta.. resettando e lasciando morire la mente.

A quel punto "zero" ogni cosa viene lasciata decadere e da lì inizia una vera rinascita.!

 

"BLOOD DRESS" ha rappresentato un'evoluzione del suono distintivo dei  Music From The Dark, mescolando elementi rock e gotici con melodie inquietanti e testi evocativi. La canzone esplora temi di passione e dolore raccontati da un uomo entrato in un percorso di miseria e solitudine.!

 

CRY FOR YOU" il nostro ultimo singolo invece parla della solitudine che provi quando qualcosa di importante che faceva parte della tua vita se ne va per sempre... e cerchi disperatamente di aggrapparti ad esso per non perderlo, ma sai già che quel sogno è svanito... ma hai ancora la forza di rialzarti e ricominciare a vivere.

 

4.La produzione è sempre molto curata, quasi cinematografica. Qual è il vostro approccio in studio e quanto influisce la tecnologia sulla vostra creatività?

 

       Sin' dall’inizio, abbiamo costruito una rete di collaborazioni tra musicisti e fonici strettamente legate a persone conosciute con le quali eravamo ben consapevoli di riuscire a unire energie ed esperienze  nelle parti musicalmente mancanti del pezzo da noi costruito.

Cosi facendo abbiamo visto i nostri brani crescere velocemente arricchiti da sfumature musicali che ogni artista ha espresso comunque in libertà’.

Siamo musicisti "vecchia scuola" e usiamo tecnologia solo dove strettamente necessario altrimenti andiamo di "Sudore". Ci teniamo comunque molto ad avere una ottima produzione e ringrazio lo studio e i fonici del "Music Inside " x averci adottato e aiutato a raggiungere splendidi risultati sonori.

 

Music From The Dark ha ottenuto riconoscimenti a livello internazionale, con passaggi radio e presenza su webzine di settore. 5.Come vivete questa dimensione globale?

 

     Grazie alla collaborazione con Waniykia records e soprattutto Jack ci ha aiutato molto a fare ascoltare le nostre canzoni a tantissime persone e radio in tutto il mondo e così abbiamo ricevuto molti feedback positivi che ci stanno dando tanta energia nel proseguire nel nostro progetto.

 

6.La scena darkwave e gothic rock è ricca di storie e miti. C’è qualche artista o movimento che ha influenzato particolarmente il vostro percorso?

 

 Band come Paradise Lost -The Cure e i vari movimenti gothic/dark in

Dopo il Rock e il Punk arrivava il Dark, ed è da qui che "Cry For You" parte, in maniera molto classica, ma il suo svolgimento è tutt'altra cosa, una continua evoluzione e fonte di sorprese, e la prima arriva quasi subito. 

 

Dopo averci illuso di stare ascoltando un'altra versione dei Cure e company, all'improvviso entra un solo di chitarra che avremmo potuto sentire solo in un brano dei "Pink Floyd". 

 

Ovviamente visto il genere, i rimandi al Gothic Metal ci sono, "Anathema" e "Katatonia" in primis, ma è proprio quello il bello, là dove le suddette band hanno solo accennato ai padri della psichedelia, qui la chitarra esprime come solo Gilmour ha saputo concepire, e il brivido ci fa compagnia. 

 

La voce è perfettamente nel contesto, cupa, vicina a band più classiche del genere come "Joy Division" e "Sister of Mercy", ma nulla è fuori posto, e se volete sapere come avrebbero suonato i Pink Floyd se fossero stati una band Dark, questa "Cry For You" dei "Music From the Dark" sarà la vostra perfetta colonna sonora autunnale.

Music From The Dark has established itself as one of the most intriguing acts in the darkwave and alternative scene.

1. How would you describe your artistic evolution from your debut single “My Secret Suicide” to today?

“My Secret Suicide” was one of the very first songs we composed, and it immediately received positive feedback from those who listened to it. It contains the essential elements that define us: a dark atmosphere and a melody that rises and emerges in full Gothic-Dark tradition.

From that foundation, we’ve continued with a spirit of active exploration, expanding and evolving, while preserving the emotional, decadent musical mood that runs through every one of our tracks.

 

2. What have been the key moments, challenges, and turning points in the growth of the project?

The pivotal moment was during the Covid period. In that state of isolation, I began to feel dark vibrations resurfacing, and the urge to write music once again took hold of my soul.

Out of that extremely negative situation, the idea for Music From The Dark was born. Now that the journey has begun, we’re working to fuse our thoughts, emotional states, and intimate sensations with the melodies of our songs, building a sonic experience that we hope will leave a lasting mark.

 

3. Your lyrics often reflect deep introspection and a dialogue with emotions like pain, desire, and redemption. How much is music a form of therapy and catharsis for you?

“My Secret Suicide,” our debut single, means a great deal to us. It explores the theme of emotional and mental suicide, not physical. It’s about starting over again and again… resetting and letting the mind die.

At that “zero” point, everything is allowed to decay, and from there, a true rebirth begins.

“Blood Dress” marked an evolution in the distinctive sound of Music From The Dark, blending rock and gothic elements with haunting melodies and evocative lyrics. The song explores themes of passion and pain, told from the perspective of a man descending into misery and solitude.

“Cry For You,” our latest single, speaks of the loneliness you feel when something deeply important in your life is gone forever. You desperately try to hold onto it, not wanting to let go, even though you know that dream has already vanished… but you still find the strength to rise again and start living.

 

4. Your production is always very refined, almost cinematic. What’s your approach in the studio, and how does technology influence your creativity?

From the very beginning, we built a network of collaborations with musicians and sound engineers we personally knew, people we trusted to bring energy and experience to the musical parts we had yet to complete.

This approach allowed our songs to grow quickly, enriched by musical nuances that each artist contributed freely and authentically.

We’re “old-school” musicians and use technology only when strictly necessary, otherwise, it’s all about sweat and effort. That said, we care deeply about achieving high-quality production, and we’re grateful to the studio and sound engineers at Music Inside for adopting us and helping us reach such powerful sonic results.

 

5. Music From The Dark has received international recognition, with radio airplay and features on genre-specific webzines. How do you experience this global dimension?

Thanks to our collaboration with Waniykia Records, and especially Jack, we’ve been able to share our music with listeners and radio stations all over the world. We’ve received a lot of positive feedback, which is giving us great energy to keep pushing forward with our project.

 

6.The darkwave and gothic rock scene is rich with stories and mythologies. Are there any artists or movements that have particularly influenced your journey?

Definitely. Bands like Paradise Lost, The Cure, and various gothic/dark movements have had a strong impact on our path…

Those of us born in 1970, who have lived through more trends than a Highlander and witnessed the rapid cultural evolutions—especially between the ’80s and ’90s—will adore this “Cry For You” by Music From the Dark, brimming with references to those years so dense with emotion.

In the search for an adolescent identity, the ’80s were a chaos in which one could get lost: fashions sprouted like mushrooms, and the alternatives in which to recognize oneself were endless.

After Rock and Punk came Dark, and that’s exactly where “Cry For You” begins—very classic in its opening—but its development is something else entirely: a continuous evolution, full of surprises, the first of which arrives almost immediately.

After tricking us into thinking we’re listening to another version of The Cure and company, suddenly a guitar solo bursts in—one that could only have been heard in a Pink Floyd track.

Naturally, given the genre, the Gothic Metal references are there—Anathema and Katatonia above all—but that’s precisely the beauty of it. Where those bands only hinted at the fathers of psychedelia, here the guitar expresses itself as only Gilmour conceived it, and the shiver stays with us.

The voice fits perfectly in context: dark, close to more classic bands of the genre such as Joy Division and Sisters of Mercy. Out of an extremely negative and dark situation, the project Music From The Dark was born. Two artists with profoundly dark souls and a shared intention: to express their emotions and thoughts through the sound of music. They draw inspiration from bands like The Cure, Paradise Lost, Katatonia, and Joy Division, crafting a “Depressive Dark” sound that conveys torment, sadness, and decay.

The duo consists of Marco Magnoni on guitars and vocals (a longtime member of Blackage, known for their 1998 album New World Order and for supporting Cradle of Filth on tour) and Max Tosi on drums. Their debut release is the single My Secret Suicide, a track that tells of an extreme situation, marked by isolation and desolation, where the only light seems distant and unreachable.

The message behind Music From The Dark is to give voice to the darkest and most tormented emotions, creating a bleak and haunting atmosphere that still opens up the possibility of finding light within the darkness.
