La nostra band nasce dagli epitaph, gruppo veronese. Daniele al tempo rimane affascinanto e da lì forma i Kryuhm.

Ne abbiamo molte e ogniuno di noi ascolta tanta musica . Be in assoluto i black sabbath, pentagram mercyfull fate , tool e molte altre di vario genere.

3.Come descrivereste il vostro stile musicale?

Un heavy doom con venature prog e dark .

4.Qual è il significato dietro il nome della vostra band?

Di un guerriero mitologico inventato da Daniele .

5. Qual è stata la vostra esperienza più memorabile durante un concerto?

Al momento a Genova di spalla ai vanexa e isola rock.

 

6. Come nasce una vostra canzone?

Le canzoni nascono da vari riff e idee che tutti portano in sala prove.

7.Qual è il processo di scrittura dei testi ?

I testi vengono scritti da Daniele , con l album demoni si parla dei nostri demoni interiori che ognuno nella sua vita riscontra.

8. Come decidete quali canzoni includere in un album ?

Al momento nessuna è mai stata scartata o accantonata , le abbiamo sempre inserite tutte.

9. Avete qualche rituale particolare prima di entrare in studio di registrazione ?

Sinceramente no, c'è sicuramente tanta voglia di creare un nuovo album che si spera sempre sia di gradimento ai fan.

10. Qual è stata la canzone più difficile da scrivere e perché ?

El ceson di carpanea perché c'è stata una ricerca approfondito sulla storia di questa leggenda.

11.Cosa possiamo aspettarci dal vostro prossimo album?

Be manterremo il filone di demoni e probabilmente con più canzoni in madre lingua italiana.

Nei precedenti album ne abbiamo avute , con demoni parte 2 vedremo.

KRYUHM 

“El Ceson di Carpanea”

 

Un viaggio oscuro nel cuore del folklore veneto, tra riff taglienti e teatralità metal.

 

I KRYUHM tornano con "Demoni" , un album che riafferma il loro ruolo nel panorama del dark sound italiano. “El Ceson di Carpanea” è una delle tracce più evocative del disco: un rituale musicale che fonde il metal occulto con la tradizione locale, cantato in dialetto e immerso in un’atmosfera da cripta.

 

Il brano richiama le strutture armoniche e la teatralità di King Diamond e Mercyful Fate, con chitarre affilate, tastiere gotiche e una voce che alterna narrazione e acuti drammatici.

 

Il testo, ispirato a leggende venete, trasporta l’ascoltatore in un mondo di misteri e presenze. L’arrangiamento cresce come un rito, tra ombre e tensione.

 

“Ceson” è un esempio di come il metal possa essere radicato nel territorio e al tempo stesso universale. Un brano che non si limita a suonare: evoca.

 

I Kryuhm sono di Verona e nascono come trio nel 1999 con Daniele “Ozzy” Laurenti (voce e chitarra), Daniele Sinico (Basso) e Fiorenzo Brusaferro (batteria), seguendo l’ispirazione dei Black Sabbath e del metal classico e registrando una demo omonima nel 2000.

Problemi di formazione ostacolano l’attività della band fino al 2009, anno in cui l’ingresso al basso di Rossella Berton (grande fotografa, regina del bianco e nero) consente di potersi proporre dal vivo in diversi eventi al fianco di ottime realtà italiane e non (Dark Quarterer, Black Oath, Crimson Dawn, Epitaph, Solstice,…), finché altre difficoltà nella line-op costringono a un ulteriore stop.

Finalmente, nel 2021 la perseveranza di Daniele Laurenti permette di ricostituire una formazione stabile con Andrea Fracca (chitarra), Francesco Sterzi (basso) e Luca Lucchini (batteria), che esordisce discograficamente con “Only In My Mind”, pubblicato da Black Widow Records e caratterizzato da un metal classico che flirta col doom.

Da qui riprende l’attività live, che si estrinseca anche con l’organizzazione di tre festival che si ripetono annualmente (Kryuhm Fest., Prophets of Doom e Samhain La Notte Esoterica), cui partecipano svariate band italiane e dai quali emerge la figura di Daniele Laurenti, sempre molto entusiasta, attivo e propositivo per creare le situazioni migliori possibili anche (e soprattutto) per altre band, dimostrando un’indole di fratellanza musicale che se fosse più comune sarebbe una gran cosa.

La fuoriuscita di Lucchini nel 2023 non ferma l’attività del gruppo che lo sostituisce con Tino Fracca e, contestualmente, introduce nella line-up anche le tastiere di Giampi Tomezzoli e produce un 7” flexidisc, sempre per BWR, contenente un tributo al mitico Paul Chain, cioè una reintepretazione coraggiosa della sua “Welcome to my hell”.

Il 2025 è l’anno di “Demoni”, il nuovo album che costituisce il primo capitolo di un progetto che prevede anche la seconda parte cui stanno già lavorando.

Siamo di fronte a un concept incentrato sulla figura dei demoni fotografati e descritti nelle loro varie accezioni: interiori, biblici, tratti dal folklore dei propri territori, in particolare attingendo dai racconti del filò tramandati nelle stalle venete.

Rispetto al precedente, il sound viene arricchito da elementi tipici del dark sound, della psichedelia e del prog, oltre che dalla presenza di svariati ospiti.

I primi due brani, “Ogni verbo è diceria” e “Inside the mirror”, sono stati scritti entrambi da Flavio Domenico Porrati (The Magik Way): il primo è una breve intro recitata dalla voce narrante dello stesso autore; il secondo presenta un heavy doom cui l’organo attribuisce una solennità che viene ancor più aumentata nel finale da un momento declamatorio, senza trascurare un ottimo assolo.

Rossella Berton copartecipa con Daniele alla scrittura de “La casa tra i rovi” che abbraccia un doom più tradizionale, infarcito da splendidi interventi della solista e impreziosito dal clarinetto di Vittorio Sabelli che sprigiona un’aurea magica e… prog.

Il pianoforte accompagna il testo (ancora di Flavio Domenico Porrati) recitato da Sandra Silver nella breve “Silente”, dove compare ancora Sabelli.

La già citata “Welcome to my hell” viene qui presentata in versione estesa rispetto al 7”, con una reinterpretazione lirica dal testo multilingue in Inglese, Italiano, Francese, cambi di tempo, riff e assoli che precedono la parte finale che, accompagnata dal piano, consente a vari ospiti di dare il loro “benvenuto infernale”, tra cui quello in Latino del compianto Mario “The Black” Di Donato.

“El ceson di Carpanea” e “I’m not a monster”, entrambe di otto minuti circa, sono un’accoppiata che esterna l’anima prog della band: la prima con le tastiere che già da subito imperlano l’incedere doom che gradualmente rallenta e poi cambia ancora ritmo su cui le soliste ispirate si alternano, mentre la voce di Daniele è accompagnata anche dai cori di John Goldfinch de L’Impero Delle Ombre; la seconda è caratterizzata da un doom cadenzato ed evocativo da cui emergono l’organo maestoso in pieno italian dark sound, momenti in cui la parte vocale si completa con le backing vocals di Joe Fe (Cultus Sanguine) e un finale che fluisce libero e travolgente.

“The night” è un omaggio ai concittadini Epitaph, storica doom band con cui condividono il tastierista Giampi Tomezzoli, con una versione molto heavy in cui compare Mauro Tollini batterista e fondatore degli stessi.

La versione in cd prevede una bonus track, “Samhain”, brano solenne e oscuro come da tradizione del dark italiano con un testo scritto da Daniele Donini e recitato dalla voce di Wanita Bayagan, mentre un organo maestoso pennella tutto di nero.

“Demoni” è un album sorprendente, decisamente più ricco e maturo di quanto non fosse il precedente e va ascoltato con attenzione… in attesa del secondo capitolo.

 

1. How was your band formed?

Our band was born out of Epitaph, a group from Verona. At the time, Daniele was fascinated, and from there he formed KRYUHM.

2. What are your main musical influences?

We have many, and each of us listens to a lot of music. Definitely Black Sabbath, Pentagram, Mercyful Fate, Tool, and many others from different genres.

3. How would you describe your musical style?

A heavy doom with prog and dark undertones.

4. What is the meaning behind your band’s name?

It comes from a mythological warrior invented by Daniele.

5. What has been your most memorable live experience?

For now, in Genoa, supporting Vanexa and at Isola Rock.

6. How does one of your songs come to life?

Songs are born from various riffs and ideas that everyone brings into the rehearsal room.

7. What is your lyric-writing process?

The lyrics are written by Daniele. With the album Demoni, we talk about our inner demons that everyone encounters in their life.

8. How do you decide which songs to include in an album?

So far, none have ever been discarded or set aside, we’ve always included them all.

9. Do you have any particular rituals before entering the recording studio?

Honestly, no. There’s definitely a strong desire to create a new album, which we always hope will be appreciated by the fans.

10. What has been the most difficult song to write, and why?

El Ceson di Carpanea, because there was an in-depth research into the story of this legend.

11. What can we expect from your next album?

We will continue along the path of Demoni, probably with more songs in our native Italian language.

12. Do you have any collaborations planned with other artists?

In previous albums we had some. With Demoni Part 2, we’ll see.

“El Ceson di Carpanea”

A dark journey into the heart of Venetian folklore, between razor-sharp riffs and metal theatricality.

KRYUHM return with Demoni, an album that reaffirms their role in the Italian dark sound scene. El Ceson di Carpanea is one of the most evocative tracks on the record: a musical ritual that fuses occult metal with local tradition, sung in dialect and immersed in a crypt-like atmosphere.

The song recalls the harmonic structures and theatricality of King Diamond and Mercyful Fate, with cutting guitars, gothic keyboards, and a voice that alternates between narration and dramatic high notes.

The lyrics, inspired by Venetian legends, transport the listener into a world of mysteries and presences. The arrangement grows like a rite, through shadows and tension.

Ceson is an example of how metal can be deeply rooted in its territory and at the same time universal. A track that doesn’t just play, it conjures.

 

 

KRYUHM – Biography & Demoni (2025)

Kryuhm hail from Verona and were born as a trio in 1999 with Daniele “Ozzy” Laurenti (vocals and guitar), Daniele Sinico (bass), and Fiorenzo Brusaferro (drums), following the inspiration of Black Sabbath and classic metal, and recording a self-titled demo in 2000.

Line-up issues hindered the band’s activity until 2009, when the arrival of Rossella Berton on bass (a renowned photographer, queen of black and white) allowed them to perform live at several events alongside notable Italian and international acts (Dark Quarterer, Black Oath, Crimson Dawn, Epitaph, Solstice, …), until further difficulties in the line-up forced another stop.

Finally, in 2021, Daniele Laurenti’s perseverance led to the reformation of a stable line-up with Andrea Fracca (guitar), Francesco Sterzi (bass), and Luca Lucchini (drums). This incarnation made its discographic debut with Only In My Mind, released by Black Widow Records, characterized by classic metal flirting with doom.

From there, live activity resumed, also expressed through the organization of three annual festivals (Kryuhm Fest, Prophets of Doom, and Samhain – The Esoteric Night), featuring various Italian bands. These events highlighted the figure of Daniele Laurenti, always enthusiastic, active, and committed to creating the best possible situations for other bands as well, demonstrating a spirit of musical brotherhood that, if more common, would be a great thing.

Lucchini’s departure in 2023 did not stop the group, who replaced him with Tino Fracca and simultaneously introduced keyboards by Giampi Tomezzoli. They also produced a 7” flexidisc, again for BWR, containing a tribute to the legendary Paul Chain: a bold reinterpretation of his Welcome to My Hell.

2025 marks the release of Demoni, the new album that constitutes the first chapter of a project already planned to have a second part currently in progress.

This is a concept centered on the figure of demons, portrayed and described in their various forms: inner, biblical, and drawn from local folklore, particularly inspired by the filò tales handed down in Venetian barns.

Compared to the previous work, the sound is enriched with elements typical of dark sound, psychedelia, and prog, as well as the presence of several guests.

The first two tracks, Ogni verbo è diceria and Inside the Mirror, were both written by Flavio Domenico Porrati (The Magik Way): the first is a short intro narrated by the author himself; the second presents heavy doom, with the organ lending solemnity that is further heightened in the finale by a declamatory moment, without neglecting an excellent solo.

Rossella Berton co-wrote La casa tra i rovi with Daniele, embracing a more traditional doom, enriched by splendid lead guitar interventions and embellished by Vittorio Sabelli’s clarinet, which releases a magical and prog aura.

The piano accompanies the text (again by Flavio Domenico Porrati) recited by Sandra Silver in the short Silente, where Sabelli also appears.

The already mentioned Welcome to My Hell is presented here in an extended version compared to the 7”, with a lyrical reinterpretation featuring multilingual lyrics in English, Italian, and French, tempo changes, riffs, and solos leading to a final section accompanied by piano, allowing various guests to deliver their “infernal welcome,” including one in Latin by the late Mario “The Black” Di Donato.

El Ceson di Carpanea and I’m Not a Monster, both around eight minutes long, showcase the band’s prog soul: the former with keyboards immediately adorning the doom pace, which gradually slows and then shifts rhythm again, with inspired solos alternating, while Daniele’s voice is joined by backing vocals from John Goldfinch of L’Impero Delle Ombre; the latter is characterized by cadenced, evocative doom, with majestic organ in full Italian dark sound, moments where the vocals are completed by Joe Fe’s backing vocals (Cultus Sanguine), and a finale that flows freely and powerfully.

The Night is a tribute to fellow Veronese doom band Epitaph, with whom they share keyboardist Giampi Tomezzoli, presented here in a very heavy version featuring Mauro Tollini, drummer and founder of Epitaph.

The CD version includes a bonus track, Samhain, a solemn and dark piece in the tradition of Italian dark sound, with lyrics written by Daniele Donini and recited by Wanita Bayagan, while a majestic organ paints everything in black.

Demoni is a surprising album, decidedly richer and more mature than its predecessor, and deserves attentive listening… while awaiting the second chapter.
