Il momento simbolo della sua carriera arrivò nel 1992 con “Racine”, album che conteneva brani come “Make You a Believer”, “I Want to Believe” e “You Don't Have to Remind Me”. “Make You a Believer” raggiunse inoltre il numero 11 della classifica Billboard Mainstream Rock.

FAREWELL TO SASS JORDAN: A GREAT VOICE OF CANADIAN ROCK FALLS SILENT
Canadian rock has lost one of its most recognizable voices. Sass Jordan passed away on October 2, 2026, at the age of 63, surrounded by the love of her family. The news was announced by her relatives, who remembered her as a true "force of nature," capable of bringing light and energy into the lives of everyone she met. The cause of death has not been disclosed.
Born in Birmingham, England, and raised in Montreal, Sass Jordan built a career in Canada that spanned nearly four decades, becoming a leading figure in female-fronted rock. Her powerful, gritty, deeply blues-infused voice became her trademark from her earliest days performing in Montreal clubs.
Her breakthrough came in 1988 with Tell Somebody, her debut solo album released by Atlantic Records. The title track reached No. 11 on the Canadian charts, and in 1989 Jordan won the Juno Award for Most Promising Female Vocalist.
The defining moment of her career arrived in 1992 with Racine, the album that featured songs such as Make You a Believer, I Want to Believe, and You Don't Have to Remind Me. Make You a Believer also reached No. 11 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart.
Throughout her career, Sass Jordan shared stages and tours with Aerosmith, The Rolling Stones, AC/DC, and Van Halen. She also collaborated with Joe Cocker on Trust in Me, which appeared on the soundtrack of The Bodyguard.
Jordan was also an important influence on a new generation of musicians. Her 1990s band famously included a young Taylor Hawkins, years before his rise to fame with the Foo Fighters.
In her later years, she reconnected deeply with her blues roots, releasing Rebel Moon Blues in 2020 and Bitches Blues in 2022.
Sass Jordan leaves behind a musical legacy built on rock, blues, soul, and an unmistakable voice. For more than forty years, she embodied character, energy, and passion, becoming one of the most significant performers in the Canadian rock scene.
Rock has lost one of its great voices, but her music will continue to speak through the songs that made Sass Jordan an artist impossible to forget.
