RANCID, 30 YEARS OF “…AND OUT COME THE WOLVES”

Thirty years after its original release, ...And Out Come the Wolves returns to tell the story of Rancid through an expansive anniversary edition that looks back at the past without relying solely on nostalgia. The California punk veterans have announced a new box set celebrating the 30th anniversary of their landmark 1995 album, featuring live recordings, demos and archival material.

Released in 1995, ...And Out Come the Wolves marked a defining moment in Rancid’s career and helped shape the sound of American punk rock throughout the 1990s. The band’s third studio album blended punk, ska and reggae influences into a sound that was instantly recognizable. It also featured some of the group’s most enduring songs, including “Roots Radicals,” “Time Bomb,” “Ruby Soho,” “Journey to the End of the East Bay” and “Maxwell Murder.”

The album was also a major commercial success. ...And Out Come the Wolves remains Rancid’s only platinum-certified album in the United States, surpassing one million copies sold. Singles such as “Roots Radicals,” “Time Bomb” and “Ruby Soho” also reached the Top 30 of the Alternative Airplay chart.

The new edition includes the original album on vinyl, but the most compelling attraction for longtime fans is the bonus material. A second LP, titled Alive, collects live recordings and demos captured at different stages of the band’s career between 1995 and 2016. Among the highlights are demo versions of “Roots Radical,” “Disorder and Disarray” and “The Way I Feel,” alongside tracks from the band’s 1995 BBC Sessions and live performances recorded in cities including Manchester, Tokyo, Montreal, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Cannes.

Particularly noteworthy is a 7-inch single featuring two previously unreleased live recordings from New York in November 1995: “Roots Radical” and “Ruby Soho.” The project also includes reissued 7-inch editions of “Roots Radical,” “Time Bomb” and “Ruby Soho,” three of the era’s most iconic singles.

The box set goes beyond the music itself. The package includes a 45 RPM record adapter, a band-signed art print of the album artwork, stickers, a screen-printed patch and a Rancid logo pin. The release is scheduled for January 2027.

Three decades later, ...And Out Come the Wolves remains one of the defining records in both Rancid’s catalog and the history of American punk rock. This new box set offers fans the opportunity to revisit that era through alternate versions, live recordings and archival material that capture the band at the height of its rise.

More than a simple anniversary reissue, it is a deep dive into one of the most important albums in Rancid’s history. Thirty years on, “Roots Radicals,” “Time Bomb” and “Ruby Soho” still sound as vital as ever, while the newly unearthed material adds fresh perspective to a record that has become a true punk rock classic.
