I Placebo hanno annunciato un nuovo tour in America Latina per il 2027, nell’ambito delle celebrazioni per i 30 anni dall’uscita del loro album di debutto, Placebo. Il tour porterà Brian Molko e Stefan Olsdal a ripercorrere anche il repertorio dei primi anni della band, con particolare attenzione ai primi due album, Placebo del 1996 e Without You I’m Nothing del 1998.
Il calendario prevede dieci concerti tra febbraio e marzo 2027. La partenza è fissata per il 20 febbraio a San Paolo, al Suhai Music Hall, seguita dagli appuntamenti del 23 febbraio a Brasilia, 26 febbraio a Curitiba e 28 febbraio a Porto Alegre. A marzo la band sarà invece a Buenos Aires il 3, Santiago del Cile il 6, Lima il 9, Bogotà l’11, per poi concludere il tour messicano con i concerti del 16 marzo a Guadalajara e del 18 marzo a Monterrey.
Il progetto celebrativo è già arrivato sul mercato: Placebo RE:CREATED è stato pubblicato il 19 giugno 2026 e propone nuove versioni dei brani del primo album, tra cui Nancy Boy, 36 Degrees e Teenage Angst. Il lavoro nasce dalla volontà della band di rileggere quel materiale dopo tre decenni di attività e di concerti.
La scelta di dedicare il tour soprattutto agli esordi rappresenta un’occasione particolare per i fan, che potranno ritrovare dal vivo brani appartenenti alla prima fase della carriera dei Placebo. È proprio in quegli anni che la band britannica ha costruito la propria identità sonora, combinando alternative rock, atmosfere cupe e una forte componente melodica.
Il tour sudamericano arriva inoltre dopo una serie di importanti appuntamenti internazionali e conferma la volontà del gruppo di continuare a portare la propria musica sui grandi palcoscenici. Per il pubblico latinoamericano sarà quindi un’occasione per assistere a uno spettacolo strettamente legato alla storia della band e alle sue origini artistiche.
Il nuovo tour rappresenta così un ulteriore capitolo delle celebrazioni per il trentennale dei Placebo e offrirà al pubblico latinoamericano l’occasione di riascoltare dal vivo alcuni dei brani che hanno segnato gli inizi della loro carriera. Un viaggio attraverso le origini della band che, dopo le date europee del 2026, proseguirà nel 2027 con dieci appuntamenti tra Brasile, Argentina, Cile, Perù, Colombia e Messico.

Placebo, South American Tour Coming in 2027
Placebo have announced a new Latin American tour for 2027, part of the celebrations marking 30 years since the release of their self‑titled debut album Placebo. The tour will see Brian Molko and Stefan Olsdal revisit the band’s early repertoire, with a particular focus on their first two records: Placebo (1996) and Without You I’m Nothing (1998).
The schedule includes ten shows between February and March 2027. The tour kicks off on 20 February in São Paulo at the Suhai Music Hall, followed by dates on 23 February in Brasília, 26 February in Curitiba and 28 February in Porto Alegre. In March, the band will perform in Buenos Aires on the 3rd, Santiago de Chile on the 6th, Lima on the 9th and Bogotá on the 11th, before wrapping up the Mexican leg with concerts on 16 March in Guadalajara and 18 March in Monterrey.
The celebratory project has already reached the market: Placebo RE:CREATED was released on 19 June 2026 and features new versions of tracks from the debut album, including Nancy Boy, 36 Degrees and Teenage Angst. The project stems from the band’s desire to reinterpret that material after three decades of activity and touring.
The decision to dedicate the tour largely to their early years offers fans a special opportunity to hear live songs from the first phase of Placebo’s career. It was precisely during those years that the British band shaped its sonic identity, blending alternative rock, dark atmospheres and a strong melodic core.
The South American tour also follows a series of major international appearances and confirms the band’s intention to continue bringing their music to large stages. For Latin American audiences, it will be a chance to experience a show closely tied to the band’s history and artistic origins.
The new tour marks another chapter in Placebo’s 30th‑anniversary celebrations and will give Latin American fans the opportunity to hear live some of the songs that defined the band’s beginnings. A journey through Placebo’s origins that, after the European dates of 2026, will continue in 2027 with ten shows across Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Colombia and Mexico.
