I Judas Priest hanno dovuto fare a meno di Ian Hill in occasione del concerto del 21 settembre all’Eventim Apollo di Londra. Il bassista e membro fondatore della band non ha potuto salire sul palco a causa di un infortunio al braccio sinistro, che gli ha impedito di partecipare alla tappa londinese del tour.
Secondo quanto comunicato dai Judas Priest, Hill ha riportato un grave danneggiamento a un tendine del braccio sinistro, un problema che lo ha costretto a fermarsi temporaneamente. L’infortunio è stato comunicato a ridosso dell’appuntamento londinese, lasciando alla band poco tempo per organizzare la sostituzione.
A prendere il posto di Hill al basso è stato Dave Rimmer degli Uriah Heep, chiamato a unirsi alla formazione per la serata. Il musicista ha così affiancato Rob Halford, Richie Faulkner, Glenn Tipton e Scott Travis sul palco dell’Eventim Apollo. Rimmer conosce inoltre molto bene Richie Faulkner, con il quale suona negli Elegant Weapons, rendendo il suo inserimento particolarmente naturale.
Nonostante l’assenza del bassista storico, il concerto londinese si è svolto regolarmente e i Judas Priest hanno mantenuto invariato il programma previsto. La band ha quindi potuto rispettare l’impegno con il pubblico britannico, affidandosi temporaneamente a Rimmer per garantire la continuità dello spettacolo.
L’assenza di Ian Hill assume un significato particolare per la storia dei Judas Priest. Hill è infatti uno dei membri fondatori della band ed è stato una presenza costante nella formazione fin dagli esordi, contribuendo alla costruzione del sound che ha fatto dei Judas Priest uno dei gruppi più importanti della storia dell’heavy metal.
La data londinese si è inserita nella tranche europea del “Faithkeepers” tour, che ha portato la band britannica sui palchi del continente nel corso del 2026. Per gli appuntamenti europei di settembre, i Judas Priest sono stati inoltre affiancati dai Nevermore in qualità di special guest.
Il concerto di Londra ha quindi rappresentato un’eccezione nella lunga storia live dei Judas Priest, con Hill costretto momentaneamente a rimanere lontano dal palco. La band ha comunque portato a termine la serata senza rinunciare all’appuntamento previsto, grazie all’intervento di Rimmer.

Judas Priest, Ian Hill Out in London: Dave Rimmer Steps In
Judas Priest were forced to perform without Ian Hill at their September 21 show at the Eventim Apollo in London. The bassist and founding member of the band was unable to take the stage due to an injury to his left arm, which prevented him from joining the London stop of the tour.
According to the band, Hill suffered a severe tendon injury in his left arm, a problem that forced him to temporarily step aside. The injury was announced shortly before the London date, leaving the band very little time to arrange a replacement.
Stepping in for Hill on bass was Dave Rimmer of Uriah Heep, who was called in to join the lineup for the night. Rimmer performed alongside Rob Halford, Richie Faulkner, Glenn Tipton and Scott Travis on the Eventim Apollo stage. He also knows Richie Faulkner extremely well, as the two play together in Elegant Weapons, making his addition particularly seamless.
Despite the absence of their longtime bassist, the London concert went ahead as planned and Judas Priest kept the scheduled setlist unchanged. The band was thus able to honor their commitment to the British audience, relying on Rimmer to ensure the show’s continuity.
Ian Hill’s absence carries particular weight in the band’s history. Hill is one of Judas Priest’s founding members and has been a constant presence in the lineup since the very beginning, helping shape the sound that made Judas Priest one of the most influential heavy metal bands of all time.
The London date was part of the European leg of the “Faithkeepers” tour, which brought the British band across the continent throughout 2026. For the September European shows, Judas Priest were joined by Nevermore as special guests.
The London concert therefore marked a rare exception in Judas Priest’s long live history, with Hill temporarily forced to stay offstage. The band nonetheless completed the show without altering their plans, thanks to Rimmer’s contribution.
