I The Hives tornano sulla scena internazionale con “The Hives Forever Forever The Hives”, il nuovo album in studio della band svedese, pubblicato il 29 agosto 2025 via PIAS. Il disco rappresenta il settimo album in studio di una delle formazioni più riconoscibili e trascinanti del rock garage contemporaneo.
Nati a Fagersta, in Svezia, nel 1993, i The Hives hanno costruito la propria identità attraverso un sound diretto e adrenalinico, capace di fondere garage rock, punk, rock’n’roll e una forte componente spettacolare. Il caratteristico look in bianco e nero, l’ironia e soprattutto la straordinaria energia dei concerti hanno contribuito a trasformare la band in uno dei gruppi più apprezzati della scena rock internazionale.
La formazione è composta da Howlin’ Pelle Almqvist alla voce, Nicholaus Arson e Vigilante Carlstroem alle chitarre, The Johan and Only al basso e Chris Dangerous alla batteria. Una lineup rimasta fedele nel tempo a quella combinazione di irruenza, precisione e teatralità che ha caratterizzato la carriera del gruppo.
“The Hives Forever Forever The Hives” arriva a due anni di distanza da “The Death of Randy Fitzsimmons” e nasce con l'ambizione dichiarata di riportare in primo piano l'attitudine più immediata della band. Le registrazioni sono state realizzate in Svezia e hanno visto nuovamente la collaborazione con lo storico produttore Pelle Gunnerfeldt, affiancato in parte da Mike D dei Beastie Boys, coinvolto nella produzione di alcuni brani.
L'album propone 13 tracce, tra cui i singoli “Enough Is Enough”, “Hooray Hooray Hooray”, “Bad Call”, “Paint A Picture” e “O.C.D.O.D.”, fino alla title track conclusiva “The Hives Forever Forever The Hives”. Il risultato è un concentrato di riff serrati, ritmi incalzanti, melodie immediate e quell'irriverenza che da sempre rappresenta uno dei marchi di fabbrica del gruppo.
Con questo nuovo lavoro, i The Hives confermano dunque la propria capacità di mantenere intatta l'identità costruita in oltre trent'anni di carriera, senza rinunciare alla ricerca di nuovi stimoli. “The Hives Forever Forever The Hives” è un ritorno energico alle radici del garage rock, ma anche una nuova dimostrazione della forza di una band che continua a considerare il rock’n’roll una questione di attitudine, velocità e spettacolo.

The Hives return to the international spotlight with The Hives Forever Forever The Hives, the Swedish band’s new studio album released on 29 August 2025 via PIAS. The record marks the group’s seventh studio effort and reaffirms the identity of one of the most recognizable and explosive acts in contemporary garage rock.
Formed in Fagersta, Sweden, in 1993, The Hives built their signature through a raw, adrenaline‑charged sound that blends garage rock, punk, rock’n’roll and a strong sense of showmanship. Their iconic black‑and‑white look, sharp irony and the electrifying energy of their live shows have helped turn the band into one of the most beloved names in the global rock scene.
The lineup features Howlin’ Pelle Almqvist on vocals, Nicholaus Arson and Vigilante Carlstroem on guitars, The Johan and Only on bass and Chris Dangerous on drums — a formation that has remained loyal over time to the mix of ferocity, precision and theatrical flair that defines the band’s career.
The Hives Forever Forever The Hives arrives two years after The Death of Randy Fitzsimmons and was conceived with the clear ambition of bringing the band’s most immediate, high‑voltage attitude back to the forefront.
