I Queens of the Stone Age hanno annunciato il nuovo album in studio, “Perfecth”, in uscita il 30 ottobre 2026 per Matador Records. Il disco rappresenta il seguito di “In Times New Roman…”, pubblicato nel 2023, e inaugura un nuovo capitolo nella storia della band guidata da Josh Homme.
L’annuncio è arrivato insieme alla pubblicazione di “Insignificant Other”, nuovo singolo che offre un primo assaggio delle atmosfere e delle sonorità del prossimo lavoro. Il brano si inserisce in un album che, secondo la visione della band, affronta temi profondamente legati all’amore, alla perdita, alle relazioni e alle conseguenze che le esperienze personali possono lasciare nel tempo.
Il titolo “Perfecth” nasce da una particolare reinterpretazione della parola “perfect” e riflette l’idea che la perfezione, nella vita come nella musica, sia in realtà un concetto impossibile da raggiungere. L’imperfezione diventa così non un limite, ma una caratteristica da accettare e valorizzare.
Questa filosofia si collega anche al concetto giapponese del kintsugi, l’arte di riparare gli oggetti di ceramica mettendo in evidenza le fratture invece di nasconderle. Una metafora che si adatta perfettamente alla dimensione emotiva di “Perfecth”, un album nel quale le ferite, i cambiamenti e le esperienze vissute diventano parte integrante del racconto.
Il nuovo disco sarà composto da nove brani: “It’s Only Love”, “Insignificant Other”, “Where The Goth Girls At?”, “Mono”, “From The Cliff”, “Sunday”, “Easy Street”, “Phantom Limb” e “Run Away From The Mob”.
“Insignificant Other” occupa un posto importante all’interno del progetto e racconta la sensazione di vuoto e disorientamento che può accompagnare la perdita di una persona significativa. Il brano, registrato con un approccio particolarmente spontaneo, conferma la volontà dei Queens of the Stone Age di mantenere anche nel nuovo album quella combinazione di energia, atmosfera e imprevedibilità che ha caratterizzato gran parte della loro carriera.
La formazione coinvolta nel disco comprende Josh Homme, Troy Van Leeuwen, Michael Shuman, Dean Fertita e Jon Theodore. La produzione è stata curata da Homme e Shuman, con sessioni di registrazione realizzate tra New Orleans e Los Angeles.

Queens of the Stone Age have announced their new studio album, “Perfecth”, set for release on October 30, 2026 via Matador Records. The record follows “In Times New Roman…” (2023) and opens a new chapter in the history of the band led by Josh Homme.
The announcement arrived alongside the release of “Insignificant Other”, a new single offering a first glimpse into the atmosphere and sonic direction of the upcoming album. The track fits into a record that, according to the band’s vision, explores themes deeply connected to love, loss, relationships, and the emotional consequences that personal experiences can leave over time.
The title “Perfecth” stems from a particular reinterpretation of the word “perfect”, reflecting the idea that perfection—both in life and in music—is ultimately an unattainable concept. Imperfection becomes not a flaw, but a trait to embrace and elevate.
This philosophy also ties into the Japanese concept of kintsugi, the art of repairing broken ceramics by highlighting the cracks rather than hiding them. It’s a metaphor that perfectly suits the emotional dimension of “Perfecth”, an album where wounds, changes, and lived experiences become an integral part of the narrative.
The new record will feature nine tracks: “It’s Only Love”, “Insignificant Other”, “Where The Goth Girls At?”, “Mono”, “From The Cliff”, “Sunday”, “Easy Street”, “Phantom Limb” and “Run Away From The Mob”.
“Insignificant Other” plays a central role in the project, portraying the sense of emptiness and disorientation that can accompany the loss of someone significant.
