I Korn fanno un nuovo e importante passo verso il loro attesissimo ritorno discografico. La band statunitense ha infatti completato le registrazioni delle parti di batteria per il prossimo album in studio, il quindicesimo della propria carriera e il successore di “Requiem”, pubblicato nel 2022.
La conferma arriva indirettamente da Ray Luzier, batterista dei Korn. Durante una recente apparizione sul canale YouTube Drumeo, il suo tecnico Mark Bennett ha mostrato parte della strumentazione utilizzata in studio, spiegando che era quella impiegata per le registrazioni del nuovo disco.
Bennett ha indicato in particolare una Pearl Copper Free Floating, rivelando che il particolare rullante era stato utilizzato proprio per completare le registrazioni del nuovo album. Un dettaglio apparentemente tecnico che ha però fornito ai fan un'importante conferma sullo stato dei lavori.
L'aggiornamento lascia intendere che il progetto stia entrando in una fase sempre più concreta, anche se non è ancora possibile stabilire con certezza se tutti gli altri componenti della band abbiano terminato le rispettive registrazioni. Al momento, infatti, i Korn non hanno comunicato ufficialmente tutti i dettagli relativi alla produzione.
Il nuovo lavoro sarà il seguito di “Requiem”, uscito nel febbraio 2022, e rappresenterà il quindicesimo album in studio della formazione. La sua realizzazione si sta rivelando particolarmente lunga e meticolosa, anche per la grande quantità di materiale scritto dalla band.
Il chitarrista James “Munky” Shaffer aveva infatti raccontato nei mesi scorsi che i Korn avevano composto quasi 40 canzoni, sottoponendole a un lungo processo di selezione, riscrittura e perfezionamento. L'obiettivo dichiarato è mantenere intatta l'identità sonora del gruppo, senza rinunciare però all'evoluzione.
Il lungo lavoro creativo sembra quindi essere stato accompagnato da una particolare attenzione ai dettagli. I Korn hanno scelto di non avere fretta, preferendo concentrarsi sulla qualità del materiale prima di fissare definitivamente la direzione del nuovo progetto.
Nel frattempo, la band ha già regalato ai fan un'anticipazione con “Reward The Scars”, pubblicata nel 2026 e realizzata in collaborazione con il mondo videoludico di Diablo IV. Il brano ha rappresentato la prima nuova musica dei Korn dopo quattro anni.
Il prossimo album sarà inoltre il primo disco in studio dei Korn realizzato senza il bassista storico Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu, che aveva lasciato la formazione dopo le registrazioni di Requiem. Al suo posto, nelle attività più recenti della band, figura Ra Díaz.
Nonostante le novità, rimangono ancora molti interrogativi. Titolo dell'album, tracklist, primo singolo e soprattutto data di pubblicazione non sono stati ancora annunciati ufficialmente. Per questo motivo, qualsiasi previsione sulla data di uscita deve essere considerata soltanto un'ipotesi.
L'attesa, però, potrebbe essere accompagnata da ulteriori aggiornamenti nei prossimi mesi. I Korn hanno infatti già programmato un importante tour europeo tra ottobre e novembre 2026, con diverse date nel Regno Unito, in Germania, Francia, Irlanda e Italia. Il tour farà tappa anche a Milano il 21 novembre.
Dopo anni di attività, successi e trasformazioni, la band guidata da Jonathan Davis si prepara dunque a inaugurare un nuovo capitolo della propria storia. Il completamento delle registrazioni di batteria rappresenta un segnale concreto: il quindicesimo album dei Korn sta finalmente prendendo forma.
Per ora, quindi, nessuna data ufficiale da segnare sul calendario. Una cosa, però, è certa: l'attesa per il nuovo album dei Korn è ufficialmente entrata in una fase decisamente più interessante.

KORN: NEW ALBUM ON THE WAY, RECORDINGS ARE COMPLETE
Korn have taken another major step toward their highly anticipated return to the studio. The U.S. band has completed the recording of the drum parts for their upcoming album, the fifteenth of their career and the follow‑up to Requiem, released in 2022.
The confirmation comes indirectly from Korn drummer Ray Luzier. During a recent appearance on the Drumeo YouTube channel, his tech Mark Bennett showcased part of the gear used in the studio, explaining that it was the setup employed for the sessions of the new record.
Bennett specifically pointed to a Pearl Copper Free Floating snare, revealing that this particular drum was used to finish the recordings for the new album. A seemingly technical detail that nonetheless provided fans with an important update on the state of the project.
The news suggests that the album is entering an increasingly concrete phase, even though it’s still unclear whether the other band members have completed their respective parts. At the moment, Korn have not officially shared all production details.
The new record will follow Requiem, released in February 2022, and will mark the band’s fifteenth studio album. Its creation is proving to be long and meticulous, partly due to the large amount of material written by the group.

However, the wait may be accompanied by further news in the coming months. Korn have already scheduled a major European tour between October and November 2026, with dates in the UK, Germany, France, Ireland and Italy. The tour will also stop in Milan on November 21.
After years of activity, success and transformation, the band led by Jonathan Davis is preparing to open a new chapter in its history. Completing the drum recordings is a concrete sign: Korn’s fifteenth album is finally taking shape.
For now, there’s still no official date to mark on the calendar. One thing, however, is clear — anticipation for Korn’s new album has officially entered a far more exciting phase.
