Il rock torna al centro della scena europea con la 22ª edizione di Rock en Seine, uno dei festival musicali più importanti di Francia, che si è svolto dal 26 al 30 agosto 2026 nella suggestiva cornice del Domaine National de Saint-Cloud, alle porte di Parigi. Cinque giornate di musica che hanno riunito grandi protagonisti della scena internazionale, confermando la vitalità e la varietà del rock contemporaneo.
A caratterizzare questa edizione è stata soprattutto la forte presenza delle chitarre, con una programmazione capace di attraversare rock alternativo, post-punk, metal, indie e sonorità più sperimentali. Un percorso musicale che ha avuto alcuni dei suoi momenti più importanti nelle ultime giornate del festival.
Tra gli appuntamenti più attesi, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds hanno guidato la serata di venerdì 28 agosto, affiancati da The Black Keys, Franz Ferdinand, Wet Leg, Biffy Clyro, Sparks e Wilco. Il giorno successivo, sabato 29 agosto, il festival ha virato verso sonorità ancora più aggressive con Deftones, Turnstile, Amyl & The Sniffers e Landmvrks, insieme a numerosi altri artisti della scena alternativa e metal.
La chiusura di domenica 30 agosto ha avuto come protagonista assoluto The Cure. La band di Robert Smith ha concluso il festival sulla Grande Scène con un concerto programmato alle 20:55, in una serata completata dalle esibizioni di Interpol, Mogwai, Slowdive, Wolf Alice e altri artisti. Per The Cure si è trattato di un ritorno particolarmente significativo: il gruppo era già stato protagonista del festival nel 2019 e nel 2026 è tornato a Rock en Seine come headliner della serata finale.
Il programma complessivo ha però raccontato un festival molto più ampio del solo rock tradizionale. Tyler, The Creator ha aperto l'edizione il 26 agosto, mentre il 27 agosto è stata la volta di Lorde. La presenza di artisti provenienti da mondi musicali differenti ha confermato la vocazione trasversale di Rock en Seine, capace di mettere sullo stesso palco rock, alternative, pop ed elettronica.
Il dato più interessante resta però la centralità riconquistata dalle band e dagli strumenti rock: da The Cure a Deftones, passando per Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, The Black Keys, Franz Ferdinand, Interpol, Turnstile e Slowdive, l'edizione 2026 ha costruito una line-up nella quale le chitarre sono tornate a occupare uno spazio importante.
Con la conclusione del festival il 30 agosto, Rock en Seine 2026 lascia quindi un messaggio chiaro: il rock continua a cambiare forma, contaminarsi e guardare al futuro, ma il fascino delle chitarre e delle grandi performance dal vivo è tutt'altro che tramontato.

ROCK EN SEINE 2026: THE RETURN OF GUITARS REIGNITES ROCK
Rock returns to the forefront of the European scene with the 22nd edition of Rock en Seine, one of France’s most important music festivals, held from 26 to 30 August 2026 in the evocative setting of the Domaine National de Saint‑Cloud, just outside Paris.
Five days of music that brought together major figures from the international scene, reaffirming the vitality and diversity of contemporary rock.
This year’s edition was defined above all by the strong presence of guitars, with a programme that spanned alternative rock, post‑punk, metal, indie and more experimental sounds. A musical journey that reached some of its most significant moments during the final days of the festival.
Among the most anticipated events, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds headlined the evening of Friday, 28 August, joined by The Black Keys, Franz Ferdinand, Wet Leg, Biffy Clyro, Sparks and Wilco. The following day, Saturday 29 August, the festival shifted towards even more aggressive sounds with Deftones, Turnstile, Amyl & The Sniffers and Landmvrks, along with numerous other artists from the alternative and metal scenes.
Sunday, 30 August, closed with The Cure as the absolute headliners. Robert Smith’s band wrapped up the festival on the Grande Scène with a concert scheduled at 20:55, in a night completed by performances from Interpol, Mogwai, Slowdive, Wolf Alice and others. For The Cure, it was a particularly meaningful return: the group had already headlined the festival in 2019, and in 2026 they came back to Rock en Seine as the final night’s main act.
The overall programme, however, showcased a festival far broader than traditional rock alone. Tyler, The Creator opened the edition on 26 August, followed by Lorde on 27 August. The presence of artists from different musical worlds confirmed Rock en Seine’s cross‑genre identity, capable of bringing rock, alternative, pop and electronic music onto the same stage.
The most striking element remains the renewed centrality of rock bands and instruments: from The Cure to Deftones, through Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, The Black Keys, Franz Ferdinand, Interpol, Turnstile and Slowdive, the 2026 edition built a line‑up in which guitars once again played a major role.
With the festival’s conclusion on 30 August, Rock en Seine 2026 leaves a clear message: rock continues to evolve, blend and look to the future, but the allure of guitars and powerful live performances is far from fading.
