Gli Iron Maiden hanno dato ufficialmente il via alla fase nordamericana del “Run For Your Lives World Tour”, il grande tour celebrativo con cui la band britannica festeggia i suoi 50 anni di carriera. La prima tappa nordamericana è andata in scena sabato 29 agosto 2026 alla Scotiabank Arena di Toronto, in Canada, davanti a un pubblico pronto a rivivere alcuni dei capitoli più importanti della storia dell'heavy metal.
Il tour nasce con un'idea precisa: celebrare il patrimonio musicale degli Iron Maiden concentrandosi esclusivamente sui loro primi nove album in studio, dal debutto Iron Maiden del 1980 fino a Fear of the Dark del 1992. Una scelta che permette alla band di riportare sul palco brani storici e alcuni pezzi che non venivano eseguiti dal vivo da molti anni.
E la scaletta proposta a Toronto ha rispettato pienamente questa filosofia. Il concerto, composto da 17 brani, ha incluso classici come “Murders in the Rue Morgue”, “Wrathchild”, “Killers”, “The Phantom of the Opera”, “The Number of the Beast”, “Powerslave”, “2 Minutes to Midnight”, “Rime of the Ancient Mariner”, “Run to the Hills”, “The Trooper” e “Hallowed Be Thy Name”. Nel finale sono arrivati anche “Aces High”, “Fear of the Dark” e “Wasted Years”.
Particolarmente significativa è la presenza di “Infinite Dreams”, tornata nella scaletta del tour dopo decenni, insieme a brani che rappresentano alcune delle pagine più importanti della discografia maideniana. Il risultato è uno spettacolo costruito attorno alla storia della band, senza rinunciare alla spettacolarità che da sempre caratterizza i suoi concerti.
Il “Run For Your Lives World Tour” era partito nel 2025 e ha attraversato diverse tappe internazionali prima di arrivare in Nordamerica. La nuova tranche prevede concerti in Canada e Stati Uniti, con appuntamenti a Montréal, Harrison nel New Jersey, Boston, Bristow, Charlotte, Hershey, Louisville, Shakopee, Chicago e Los Angeles. Il calendario nordamericano proseguirà quindi per tutto il mese di settembre, prima delle successive date internazionali.
A rendere ancora più importante questa fase del tour è la nuova produzione scenica, pensata per i grandi palchi e costruita per accompagnare una scaletta profondamente legata alla prima parte della carriera degli Iron Maiden. Sul palco, naturalmente, non può mancare Eddie, l'iconica mascotte della band, protagonista da sempre dell'immaginario visivo del gruppo.
Il “Run For Your Lives” rappresenta anche un momento particolare nella storia della formazione. A guidare gli Iron Maiden sul palco ci sono Bruce Dickinson, Steve Harris, Dave Murray, Adrian Smith e Janick Gers, con Simon Dawson alla batteria dopo il ritiro dalle tournée di Nicko McBrain. È quindi una formazione che guarda al futuro, ma con uno spettacolo costruito quasi interamente sulla memoria e sull'eredità dei primi anni.
Con la partenza da Toronto, gli Iron Maiden hanno dimostrato ancora una volta di poter trasformare il proprio repertorio storico in uno spettacolo attuale e imponente. IRON MAIDEN, THE “RUN FOR YOUR LIVES TOUR” LANDS IN NORTH AMERICA
Iron Maiden have officially kicked off the North American leg of the “Run For Your Lives World Tour”, the major celebratory tour marking the band’s 50th anniversary. The first North American date took place on Saturday, 29 August 2026 at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena, where fans were ready to relive some of the most defining chapters in heavy metal history.
The tour is built around a clear concept: celebrating Iron Maiden’s musical legacy by focusing exclusively on their first nine studio albums, from the 1980 debut Iron Maiden to 1992’s Fear of the Dark. This approach allows the band to bring back historic tracks and songs that had not been performed live in many years.
The setlist in Toronto fully embraced this philosophy. The 17‑song concert featured classics such as “Murders in the Rue Morgue,” “Wrathchild,” “Killers,” “The Phantom of the Opera,” “The Number of the Beast,” “Powerslave,” “2 Minutes to Midnight,” “Rime of the Ancient Mariner,” “Run to the Hills,” “The Trooper” and “Hallowed Be Thy Name.” The finale included “Aces High,” “Fear of the Dark” and “Wasted Years.”
Particularly notable was the return of “Infinite Dreams,” back in the set after decades, alongside tracks that represent some of the most important pages of the Maiden discography. The “Run For Your Lives World Tour” began in 2025 and travelled through several international dates before reaching North America. The new leg includes shows in Canada and the United States, with stops in Montréal, Harrison (New Jersey), Boston, Bristow, Charlotte, Hershey, Louisville, Shakopee, Chicago and Los Angeles. The North American schedule will continue throughout September before the tour moves on to further international dates.
Adding even more weight to this phase of the tour is the new stage production, designed for large venues and built to complement a setlist deeply rooted in the early years of Iron Maiden’s career. On stage, of course, Eddie — the band’s iconic mascot — remains an essential presence in their visual universe.
The “Run For Your Lives” tour also marks a significant moment in the band’s history. Leading Iron Maiden on stage are Bruce Dickinson, Steve Harris, Dave Murray, Adrian Smith and Janick Gers, with Simon Dawson on drums following Nicko McBrain’s retirement from touring. It’s a lineup looking toward the future, yet performing a show almost entirely anchored in memory and legacy.
With the Toronto kickoff, Iron Maiden have once again shown their ability to transform their historic repertoire into a powerful, contemporary spectacle.
