Dopo mesi di attesa, indizi, teaser e messaggi misteriosi condivisi attraverso i social, i Queens of the Stone Age hanno finalmente svelato il titolo del loro nuovo album in studio: “Perfecth”.
Il disco sarà il nono album in studio della carriera della band guidata da Josh Homme e arriverà dopo “In Times New Roman…”, pubblicato nel 2023. Il nuovo lavoro segna quindi il ritorno dei Queens of the Stone Age con un album completamente nuovo a tre anni di distanza dal precedente capitolo.
L’annuncio, come da tradizione per la band, è arrivato in modo decisamente fuori dagli schemi. In un video pubblicato nei giorni scorsi, Josh Homme e Dean Fertita sono protagonisti di una partita di “Five-Finger Fillet”, il pericoloso gioco che consiste nel colpire rapidamente con un coltello gli spazi tra le dita della mano appoggiata su una superficie.
Il gioco, per Homme, finisce nel peggiore dei modi, con una ferita alla mano e una scena decisamente sanguinosa. Proprio all’interno del video viene poi svelato il titolo del nuovo album: “Perfecth”.
Per quanto riguarda la data di uscita, la situazione è al momento ancora avvolta nel mistero. Nel video era stata indicata inizialmente la data del 30 settembre 2026, ma il riferimento è stato successivamente cancellato e sostituito con la scritta “Coming Soon”. Di conseguenza, il 30 settembre può essere considerato soltanto come una data provvisoria o teasata dalla band, e non come una data di pubblicazione definitivamente confermata.
L’attesa per “Perfecth” è cresciuta ulteriormente nelle ultime settimane. A luglio i Queens of the Stone Age avevano infatti pubblicato “Easy Street”, il nuovo singolo che ha anticipato il ritorno della band con materiale inedito. Il brano, che vede anche la partecipazione della cantautrice Nikki Lane, è stato il primo nuovo brano dei Queens of the Stone Age dopo “In Times New Roman…”.
Il nuovo album arriva inoltre in un momento particolarmente intenso per la band. I Queens of the Stone Age sono attualmente impegnati in un importante ciclo di concerti internazionali e hanno condiviso diverse date del 2026 con i Foo Fighters, oltre ad avere in programma ulteriori appuntamenti in Nord America e, successivamente, in Australia e Nuova Zelanda.
“Perfecth” si preannuncia quindi come uno degli album rock più attesi della seconda parte del 2026. Per il momento non sono stati resi pubblici la tracklist completa, tutti i dettagli della produzione o una data di uscita definitiva. L’unica certezza è che il nuovo capitolo dei Queens of the Stone Age è in arrivo.
E, considerando il modo in cui Josh Homme e soci hanno scelto di annunciarlo, è probabile che la band abbia ancora qualche sorpresa in serbo per i propri fan.

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE: THE NEW ALBUM “PERFECTH” IS OFFICIAL
After months of waiting, clues, teasers and mysterious messages shared across social media, Queens of the Stone Age have finally revealed the title of their new studio album: “Perfecth”.
The record will be the ninth studio album in the career of the band led by Josh Homme and arrives after “In Times New Roman…”, released in 2023. The new work therefore marks the band’s return with a completely new album, three years after their previous chapter.
As usual for the band, the announcement came in a decidedly unconventional way. In a video published in recent days, Josh Homme and Dean Fertita are seen playing Five‑Finger Fillet, the dangerous game that consists of rapidly striking the spaces between one’s fingers with a knife while the hand rests on a surface.
For Homme, the game ends in the worst possible way, with a hand injury and a decidedly bloody scene. It is precisely within the video that the title of the new album is revealed: “Perfecth”.
As for the release date, the situation is still shrouded in mystery. The video initially displayed 30 September 2026, but the reference was later removed and replaced with the phrase “Coming Soon”. As a result, 30 September can only be considered a provisional or teased date, not an officially confirmed release.
Anticipation for “Perfecth” has grown even further in recent weeks. In July, Queens of the Stone Age released “Easy Street”, the new single previewing their return with unreleased material. The track, which also features singer‑songwriter Nikki Lane, is the band’s first new song since “In Times New Roman…”.
The new album also arrives at an especially intense moment for the band. Queens of the Stone Age are currently engaged in a major cycle of international concerts and have shared several 2026 dates with the Foo Fighters, in addition to planning further shows in North America and later in Australia and New Zealand.
“Perfecth” is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated rock albums of the second half of 2026. For now, the full tracklist, production details and a definitive release date have not been made public. The only certainty is that the new chapter from Queens of the Stone Age is on its way.
And considering the way Josh Homme and company chose to announce it, it’s likely the band still has a few surprises in store for their fans.
