Il rock torna protagonista in Sardegna con il Sulky Rock 2026, festival che quest’anno propone due appuntamenti all’Arena Fenicia di Sant’Antioco, il 18 e il 29 agosto, con una line-up capace di unire importanti realtà italiane, band sarde e alcuni dei nomi più interessanti della scena internazionale.
La prima serata, in programma martedì 18 agosto, vedrà protagonisti Ilienses, Gentylesky, Sick Tamburo, Ditz e Mogwai, in un percorso musicale che attraversa tradizione, punk, post-punk, noise rock e post-rock.
Ad aprire la giornata saranno gli Ilienses, progetto nato in Sardegna che unisce la musica contemporanea alle radici culturali dell’isola, recuperando strumenti, sonorità e suggestioni della tradizione sarda attraverso un linguaggio fortemente personale e sperimentale.
Spazio poi ai Gentylesky, formazione cagliaritana nata nel 2021 e vicina alle atmosfere del post-punk e del garage punk. Dopo l’album d’esordio Ways of Seeing!, pubblicato nel 2023, la band ha proseguito il proprio percorso con Dream, uscito nel 2026.
Tra i protagonisti più attesi ci saranno i Sick Tamburo, storica formazione di Pordenone nata nel 2007 e caratterizzata da un sound che unisce punk, rock alternativo ed elementi cantautorali. La band porterà sul palco l’energia e l’intensità che hanno contraddistinto il suo percorso discografico e live.
La dimensione internazionale sarà affidata ai Ditz, formazione di Brighton tra le realtà più interessanti del noise rock e del post-punk britannico contemporaneo. Il loro sound è diretto, aggressivo e fortemente fisico, con influenze che spaziano dall’hardcore alla musica alternativa. Per la band si tratta inoltre della prima esibizione in Sardegna.
A chiudere la serata saranno i Mogwai, autentici protagonisti della storia del post-rock. La formazione scozzese, nata a Glasgow negli anni Novanta, ha costruito negli anni un’identità inconfondibile attraverso chitarre stratificate, atmosfere dilatate, lunghe parti strumentali e potenti crescendo. La loro presenza rappresenta uno degli appuntamenti più importanti dell’edizione 2026 e coincide con un periodo particolarmente significativo della loro carriera.
Il festival tornerà poi all’Arena Fenicia sabato 29 agosto con una seconda serata che vedrà sul palco The Kooks, Tre Allegri Ragazzi Morti, Sikitikis, Purple Drip e Riflesso.
A guidare la line-up saranno i The Kooks, storica band indie rock britannica di Brighton, diventata famosa a livello internazionale con l’album Inside In/Inside Out. Insieme a loro ci saranno i Tre Allegri Ragazzi Morti, una delle formazioni più originali e riconoscibili dell’underground italiano, con il loro caratteristico mix di punk, rock, cantautorato e immaginario fumettistico.
Completano il programma i Sikitikis, tra le realtà più conosciute della scena rock sarda, i Purple Drip di Olbia, legati alle sonorità hard rock, e i Riflesso, formazione hardcore cagliaritana attiva dal 2017.
Il Sulky Rock 2026 conferma così una formula particolarmente interessante: portare in Sardegna artisti internazionali e nomi affermati della scena italiana, dando contemporaneamente spazio alle realtà musicali locali. Un festival capace di attraversare diverse anime del rock contemporaneo, dal post-rock dei Mogwai al noise dei Ditz, dal punk dei Sick Tamburo all’indie dei The Kooks.
Due serate, dieci formazioni e un programma pensato per trasformare Sant’Antioco e l’Arena Fenicia in uno dei punti di riferimento dell’estate rock italiana.

SULKY ROCK 2026: SICK TAMBURO, MOGWAI AND DITZ TAKE THE STAGE IN SANT’ANTIOCO
Rock returns to center stage in Sardinia with Sulky Rock 2026, a festival that this year offers two events at the Arena Fenicia in Sant’Antioco, on 18 and 29 August, featuring a line‑up that brings together major Italian acts, Sardinian bands and some of the most interesting names from the international scene.
The first night, scheduled for Tuesday 18 August, will feature Ilienses, Gentylesky, Sick Tamburo, Ditz and Mogwai, in a musical journey that spans tradition, punk, post‑punk, noise rock and post‑rock.
Opening the day will be Ilienses, a Sardinian project that blends contemporary music with the island’s cultural roots, reviving instruments, sounds and atmospheres from Sardinian tradition through a deeply personal and experimental language.
Next up are Gentylesky, a Cagliari‑based band formed in 2021 and close to post‑punk and garage‑punk atmospheres. After their debut album Ways of Seeing! released in 2023, the band continued its path with Dream, out in 2026.
Among the most anticipated acts are Sick Tamburo, the historic Pordenone band formed in 2007 and known for a sound that merges punk, alternative rock and singer‑songwriter elements. The group will bring to the stage the energy and intensity that have defined their discography and live performances.
The international dimension will be represented by Ditz, a Brighton‑based band among the most compelling names in contemporary British noise rock and post‑punk. Their sound is direct, aggressive and intensely physical, with influences ranging from hardcore to alternative music. This will also mark the band’s first performance in Sardinia.
Closing the night will be Mogwai, true protagonists of post‑rock history. The Scottish band, formed in Glasgow in the 1990s, has built an unmistakable identity over the years through layered guitars, expansive atmospheres, long instrumental passages and powerful crescendos. Their presence stands as one of the most important moments of the 2026 edition and coincides with a particularly significant period in their career.
The festival will return to the Arena Fenicia on Saturday 29 August with a second night featuring The Kooks, Tre Allegri Ragazzi Morti, Sikitikis, Purple Drip and Riflesso.
Leading the line‑up will be The Kooks, the historic indie rock band from Brighton that achieved international fame with the album Inside In/Inside Out. Joining them are Tre Allegri Ragazzi Morti, one of the most original and recognizable acts in Italian underground music, known for their distinctive mix of punk, rock, singer‑songwriter influences and comic‑book imagery.
Completing the program are Sikitikis, one of the best‑known names in the Sardinian rock scene, Purple Drip from Olbia, tied to hard rock sounds, and Riflesso, a Cagliari‑based hardcore band active since 2017.
Sulky Rock 2026 thus confirms a particularly compelling formula: bringing international artists and established Italian acts to Sardinia while simultaneously giving space to local musical realities. A festival capable of crossing multiple souls of contemporary rock — from Mogwai’s post‑rock to Ditz’s noise, from Sick Tamburo’s punk to The Kooks’ indie.
Two nights, ten bands and a program designed to turn Sant’Antioco and the Arena Fenicia into one of the key destinations of Italy’s rock summer.
