I Royal Blood sono ufficialmente tornati. Il duo britannico formato da Mike Kerr e Ben Thatcher ha annunciato il nuovo album in studio, intitolato Dead Company, in uscita il 13 novembre 2026 su Warner Records. Ad accompagnare l’annuncio arriva anche “Ten Over Ten”, il primo singolo estratto dal nuovo lavoro, pubblicato il 13 agosto 2026 insieme al videoclip ufficiale.
Dead Company sarà il quinto album in studio dei Royal Blood e arriverà a circa tre anni di distanza da Back To The Water Below, pubblicato nel 2023. Il nuovo disco rappresenta il ritorno della band dopo un periodo di lavoro lontano dai riflettori, durante il quale Kerr e Thatcher hanno potuto concentrarsi sulla musica senza particolari pressioni esterne.
Il duo ha scelto di autoprodurre l’intero album, con l'obiettivo di ottenere un risultato diretto, fisico e autentico. Le nuove canzoni sono state concepite pensando soprattutto alla dimensione live, con un approccio energico e aggressivo. Dead Company nasce quindi dalla volontà di riportare in primo piano quella componente istintiva che ha sempre caratterizzato il sound della band.
Il primo assaggio è “Ten Over Ten”, un brano costruito attorno al basso potente di Mike Kerr, alla batteria di Ben Thatcher e a una scrittura estremamente energica. La canzone prende spunto dall’esperienza di Kerr durante la preparazione per una maratona e affronta il tema della resistenza, della determinazione e della capacità di superare i propri limiti.
Per comprendere l’importanza del ritorno dei Royal Blood bisogna ricordare che la band si è formata a Worthing, in Inghilterra, nel 2011. Kerr si occupa di voce e basso, mentre Thatcher è alla batteria: una formazione ridotta a due elementi che il duo ha trasformato in una vera macchina rock.
Uno degli aspetti più caratteristici dei Royal Blood è proprio l'utilizzo del basso elettrico attraverso effetti e distorsioni, riuscendo a ottenere un suono capace di riempire lo spazio normalmente occupato anche da una chitarra. Royal Blood are officially back. The British duo formed by Mike Kerr and Ben Thatcher have announced their new studio album, titled Dead Company, set for release on November 13, 2026 via Warner Records. Alongside the announcement comes “Ten Over Ten”, the first single taken from the new record, released on August 13, 2026 together with its official music video.
Dead Company will be Royal Blood’s fifth studio album and arrives roughly three years after Back To The Water Below, released in 2023. The new record marks the band’s return after a period spent working away from the spotlight, during which Kerr and Thatcher were able to focus on the music without external pressure.
The duo chose to self‑produce the entire album, aiming for a direct, physical and authentic result. The new songs were conceived with the live dimension in mind, embracing an energetic and aggressive approach. Dead Company is born from the desire to bring back the instinctive component that has always defined the band’s sound.
The first taste is “Ten Over Ten”, a track built around Mike Kerr’s powerful bass, Ben Thatcher’s drumming and an extremely high‑energy writing style. The song draws inspiration from Kerr’s experience while training for a marathon and explores themes of endurance, determination and the ability to push beyond one’s limits.
