A oltre vent'anni dalla pubblicazione di Scabdates (2005), i The Mars Volta annunciano il loro nuovo album dal vivo "Lucro Sucio; Unfinished Business", un progetto che segna il ritorno ufficiale della band nel formato live e che promette di offrire una nuova prospettiva sul più recente capitolo della loro produzione artistica.
L'album sarà disponibile in digitale dal 4 settembre 2026, mentre le edizioni fisiche in CD e doppio vinile arriveranno il 16 ottobre 2026 tramite InsideOut Music.
Più che una semplice registrazione di un concerto, Lucro Sucio; Unfinished Business nasce come una vera e propria reinterpretazione delle esibizioni del tour 2025 dedicato a Lucro Sucio; Los Ojos del Vacío. Per la realizzazione del disco, Omar Rodríguez-López e Cedric Bixler-Zavala hanno coinvolto direttamente il pubblico: migliaia di fan hanno infatti partecipato online alla selezione delle performance destinate a entrare nella tracklist definitiva, contribuendo a costruire un album che riflette l'energia e l'imprevedibilità dei concerti della band.
Ad anticipare l'uscita è stato pubblicato il brano "Cue The Sun / Alba Del Orate", primo estratto del live, che offre un assaggio dell'approccio sonoro scelto dal gruppo: una produzione ad alta definizione, arricchita da nuove stratificazioni sonore e da un mix pensato per restituire tutta l'intensità delle esibizioni dal vivo.
