A cinque anni dall'uscita di In Translation, Peter Hammill torna con un nuovo lavoro in studio. Il musicista britannico ha annunciato "Tears In Time", il suo primo album di brani completamente inediti dal 2021, confermando ancora una volta la sua inesauribile vena creativa.
L'album sarà pubblicato il 25 settembre 2026 dall'etichetta Cherry Red Records e conterrà undici nuove composizioni, registrate nell'arco di diversi anni presso il suo storico Terra Incognita Studio. Secondo quanto dichiarato dallo stesso Hammill, i brani sono stati sviluppati e perfezionati nel tempo fino a trovare un equilibrio comune, pur mantenendo una notevole varietà stilistica.

The British musician has announced “Tears In Time”, his first album of entirely new material since 2021, once again confirming his inexhaustible creative drive.
The album will be released on September 25, 2026 via Cherry Red Records and will feature eleven new compositions, recorded over several years at his historic Terra Incognita Studio. According to Hammill, the tracks were developed and refined over time until they reached a shared balance — while still maintaining a remarkable stylistic variety.
For more than fifty years a key figure in international progressive rock — both as leader of Van der Graaf Generator and as a solo artist — Hammill continues to stand out for a deeply personal musical language, capable of merging sonic exploration, emotional intensity and profoundly introspective lyrics. Tears In Time fits perfectly into a career that has never stopped evolving, reaffirming the artist’s desire to keep moving forward without ever abandoning his identity.
The album’s release, set for Friday, September 25, 2026, is already marked in red by progressive‑rock fans and by all those who continue to follow one of the most influential and original musicians on the British scene.
