BLONDIE, EXPLOSIVE COMEBACK WITH JOHNNY MARR!

Blondie are back with new music and have announced “High Noon”, the twelfth studio album from the legendary American new wave band, set for release on February 26, 2027, via BMG. Leading the campaign is “Spectral Eyes”, the new single released on October 15, 2026, written by Johnny Marr, the iconic former Smiths guitarist, who also contributes his unmistakable guitar work to the track. The album marks Blondie’s first collection of original material since “Pollinator”, released in 2017.

With “Spectral Eyes”, Debbie Harry and her bandmates rediscover the perfect balance between punk attitude, pop melodies, and new wave textures that helped establish Blondie as one of the most influential acts in modern music. The single stands out thanks to its shimmering guitars, driving rhythm, and highly melodic chorus, where Harry’s unmistakable vocals blend seamlessly with Marr’s distinctive playing. The collaboration brings together two key figures from both British and American rock history.

The upcoming album will feature 13 tracks and includes an impressive lineup of guest musicians, among them Glen Matlock, founding bassist of the Sex Pistols, Zach Condon of Beirut, and Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig of Lucius. Returning behind the boards is producer John Congleton, who previously worked with Blondie on Pollinator, while recording sessions for the project began in New York in 2022.

“High Noon” also carries special emotional significance, as it features the final recordings of Clem Burke, Blondie’s legendary drummer and co-founder, who passed away in April 2025 at the age of 70. His presence makes this new release an important testament to the artistic journey he shared with Debbie Harry and Chris Stein, the band’s remaining pillars.

According to Debbie Harry, the album blends the many influences and musical eras explored throughout Blondie’s career, reshaping them into a fresh and contemporary statement while remaining faithful to the band's identity. The approach confirms the group's desire to continue evolving and experimenting without losing touch with the sound that made them iconic.

With “Spectral Eyes”, Blondie launch a new chapter in their career, setting the stage for an album that combines legacy, sonic exploration, and prestigious collaborations. The appointment is set for February 26, 2027, when High Noon arrives in stores and on digital platforms, bringing one of rock’s most enduring and influential bands back into the spotlight.

More than four decades after redefining the boundaries between punk, pop, and new wave, Blondie prove once again that creativity has no expiration date. And with Johnny Marr helping to ignite the spark, “High Noon” promises to be one of the most anticipated rock releases of 2027.
