NASKA SIGNS WITH SONY MUSIC: A NEW CHAPTER FOR ITALIAN PUNK ROCK!
Naska has officially opened a new chapter in his career by joining the roster of Columbia Records / Sony Music Italy. The announcement marks a significant milestone for the singer-songwriter from the Marche region, born Diego Caterbetti, who has carved out a distinctive place within the Italian pop-punk scene over the past few years.
His artistic journey has been built around a sound that combines energetic guitars, catchy hooks, and the rebellious attitude of early-2000s pop-punk. Drawing inspiration from a generation raised on American punk rock, Naska has reinterpreted those influences through direct lyrics, personal vulnerabilities, and stories that resonate with younger audiences.
From the EP ALO/VE to the albums Rebel and La mia stanza, and later The Freak Show, Naska has steadily developed a highly personal musical identity while attracting an ever-growing fanbase. His artistic approach stands out for its honesty and lack of filters, where anger, irony, insecurities, and a desire for freedom coexist with infectious melodies and powerful arrangements. This balance has allowed him to connect with a wide audience while staying true to his punk roots.
Naska's rise has not been limited to recorded music. In December 2024, he headlined the Unipol Forum in Assago for the first time, performing in front of more than 11,000 fans and confirming both the strength of his live performances and the deep connection he has built with his audience. It was a remarkable achievement for an artist whose career developed outside the traditional pathways of the Italian music industry.
In 2025, he revealed a more intimate side of his artistry with Milanconia, an EP that reimagined his songs in an acoustic format and was supported by a theater tour. The project offered listeners a chance to discover a more reflective and stripped-back dimension of his music while preserving the emotional intensity that defines his songwriting.
Joining Columbia Records / Sony Music Italy further strengthens a relationship that had already begun with the release of Milanconia. Meanwhile, his management will continue to be handled by Thamsanqa, the company that has supported him since the earliest stages of his career.
For Naska, this agreement signals the beginning of a new phase, one that could provide greater opportunities to expand his project and reach an even wider audience. It also highlights the music industry's growing interest in alternative sounds and artists capable of speaking directly to younger generations.
The next step remains to be seen. Whether this partnership will lead to a new studio album or other ambitious projects, Naska's journey continues to demonstrate that pop-punk still has a vibrant place in contemporary Italian music, keeping alive the energy of distorted guitars, spontaneous expression, and the enduring spirit of going against the grain.
