La Sardegna si prepara ad accogliere la prima edizione del Disaster Metal Fest, un nuovo appuntamento dedicato agli appassionati della musica metal ed estrema che promette di imporsi come uno degli eventi di riferimento del genere sull'isola. L'appuntamento è fissato per domenica 12 luglio 2026 presso l'Arena in Fiera di Cagliari, location che ospiterà una giornata all'insegna delle sonorità più intense e delle grandi esibizioni dal vivo.
A guidare il cartellone saranno i leggendari Mayhem, autentica istituzione della scena black metal mondiale. La storica formazione norvegese, tra le più influenti nella storia del metal estremo, approda in Sardegna per quello che rappresenta uno degli appuntamenti più attesi dell'estate dagli appassionati del genere. Con una carriera che attraversa oltre quattro decenni, i Mayhem continuano a essere un punto di riferimento imprescindibile grazie a una proposta artistica che ha segnato profondamente l'evoluzione della musica estrema internazionale.
Accanto ai Mayhem saliranno sul palco anche i canadesi Voivod, altra band simbolo del panorama metal mondiale. Celebri per il loro stile inconfondibile, capace di fondere thrash metal, progressive, heavy e sperimentazione, i Voivod porteranno a Cagliari uno spettacolo che ripercorre una carriera ricca di innovazione e riconoscimenti, confermandosi tra le realtà più originali e longeve della scena internazionale.

Sardinia prepares to host the first edition of the Disaster Metal Fest, a new event dedicated to fans of metal and extreme music that aims to establish itself as one of the island’s key festivals. The event is set for Sunday, 12 July 2026 at the Arena in Fiera in Cagliari, which will welcome a full day of intense sounds and major live performances.
Leading the lineup are the legendary Mayhem, a true institution of the global black‑metal scene. The historic Norwegian formation — among the most influential in the history of extreme metal — arrives in Sardinia for what is expected to be one of the most anticipated summer events for genre enthusiasts. With a career spanning over four decades, Mayhem remain an essential reference point thanks to an artistic legacy that has profoundly shaped the evolution of international extreme music.
Joining them on stage will be Canadian icons Voivod, another cornerstone of the worldwide metal landscape. Renowned for their unmistakable style — a fusion of thrash metal, progressive, heavy and experimentation — Voivod will bring to Cagliari a show that retraces a career marked by innovation and acclaim, confirming their status as one of the most original and enduring acts on the international scene.
