-INIZIEREI PARLARTI DI COME NATO PROGETTO "MUSIC FROM THE DARK" E DEI VARI MEMBRI CHE LO COMPONGONO:

Dopo la morte di mia madre a livello musicale ho passato un lungo fermo creativo...ma durante il periodo del covid chiuso nel mio garage mi sono ritrovato molte notti solo in compagnia della mia
chitarra e qualche disco.
In quel momento ho iniziato a risentire forti vibrazioni e la voglia di scrivere è ritornata a impossessarsi della mia anima e ho ricominciato a sognare e pensare una frase che mi disse un mio amico.
"Chi vive una vita senza musica non vive del tutto"

Da una situazione estremamente negativa è nato cosi l'idea del progetto Music FromThe Dark.. Ora che il percorso è avviato
stiamo cercando di fondere il nostro pensiero, il nostro stato d’animo, le sensazioni piu intime con le melodie dei nostri brani e su questo ci costruiamo una esperienza sonora che possa lasciare traccia nel tempo.

Ringrazio il mio amico storico Max che mi ha spinto a uscire dal garage e mettere queste canzoni in un nuovo progetto musicale e così abbiamo fondato assieme i MUSIC FROM THE DARK.
Con Max Tosi abbiamo iniziato a suonare assieme da quando avevamo 15 anni e non poteva che essere lui il compagno
migliore e grande batterista arrangiatore per questa nuova avventura .
In questi ultimi anni si è unito a noi anche un altro nostro amico storico Mattia Facchini che sta facendo un ottimo lavoro a livello chitarra solistica nonché come arrangiatore assieme a tutta la band.

-VORREI PARLARTI ESSENZA DEI BRANI CHE COMPONGONO IL NOSTRO PRIMO EP:

FOREVER NIGHT" esprime un profondo dolore esistenziale e la fine definitiva di una relazione tossica segnata da un senso di solitudine e rovina. Una inevitabile accettazione della fine, dove le ombre e l'oscurità prendono il sopravvento su ogni speranza.

"Una ricerca incessante dell'ultimo addio...
un dolore capace di traghettarti verso
una nuova alba o di farti naufragare in
una notte eterna."

CRY FOR YOU" parla della solitudine che provi quando qualcosa di importante che faceva parte della tua vita se ne va per
sempre... e cerchi disperatamente di aggrapparti ad esso per non perderlo, ma sai già che quel sogno è svanito... ma hai ancora la forza di rialzarti e ricominciare a vivere.

BLOOD DRESS" Uno dei brani più carichi del lotto mescola elementi punk rock goth con inserti lirici di voce femminile. (Betty)
La canzone esplora temi di passione e dolore raccontati da un uomo entrato in un percorso di miseria e solitudine..

"MY SECRET SUICIDE" il nostro primo singolo ci teniamo tantissimo e affronta il tema di un suicidio mentale emotivo...non fisico!

Un ricominciare dal inizio ogni volta...resettando e lasciando morire la mente.
A quel punto "zero" ogni cosa viene lasciata decadere e da lì inizia una vera rinascita.!!!

Ringrazio tutti musicisti che hanno suonato nel nostro nuovo EP e un
ringraziamento speciale a Daniele e Stefano del Music inside studio(MO) .
E un mega ringraziamento va anche a Mr.Jack della Waniykia records che ha creduto subito in noi e ad altre realtà come
Thunder Rock che ci hanno aiutato molto a fare ascoltare le nostre canzoni a tantissime persone in tutto il mondo.

Grazie a questo abbiamo ricevuto molti feedback positivi che ci stanno dando tanta energia nel proseguire nel nostro

"Forever Night" 

 

Confermo quello che già ho detto dei "Music From The Dark" in scorse recensioni...

 

Se vi piace il mood oscuro, preparatevi ad un viaggio nella nebbia con una luce fioca ad sccompagnarvi, ma...

 

"Forever Night," che lotta tra il voler dimenticare qualcuno o ricordarlo per sempre, entra come il brano più Gothic/Doom Metal di sempre, (Type 0 Negative rules...) solo per spiazzarci da subito...

 

Diciamo intanto che la voce di Marco e' molto più vicina al Dark dei "Cure" e dei "Sisters of Mercy", quindi questo sposta tutto ad un ambiente più anni 80, ma che si sposa incredibilmente bene con il resto che vira su un Emo/Gothic anni 90, con reminiscenze Grunge (incredibile ma vero).

 

Ma la chicca all' interno di questo brano è l'inserimento di cori di bimbi (si avete letto bene) che insieme a tutto il resto mi hanno ricordato i "Mother Love Bone"... 

 

Forse lo sento solo io, ma in ogni caso rende in modo molto originale e meno oscuro, e la candela che vi accompagna, all' improvviso vi illumina la via di uscita per lasciare andare chi ci ha lasciato.

 

Se siete curiosi di ascoltare il resto dell' EP, contattate i "MUSIC FROM THE DARK", perché l'altra chicca è che il loro CD è uscito in versione digipack limitata, e per una delle migliori rivelazioni Dark/Doom in Italia, vale veramente l'acquisto.

Hi Arianna, thank you for the space you’ve given us.

I’d like to start by telling you how the “Music From The Dark” project was born, and who the members are.

After my mother passed away, I went through a long creative shutdown. Musically, everything stopped. But during the Covid period, locked inside my garage, I found myself spending many nights alone with just my guitar and a few records.

In those moments, I began to feel strong vibrations again, and the urge to write slowly took hold of my soul. I started dreaming again, thinking about a phrase a friend once told me:

“A life without music is not a life at all.”

From an extremely negative situation, the idea for Music From The Dark was born. Now that the journey has begun, we’re trying to merge our thoughts, our emotional states, and our most intimate sensations with the melodies of our songs. On this foundation, we’re building a sonic experience meant to leave a mark over time.

I want to thank my longtime friend Max, who pushed me to step out of that garage and turn these songs into a new musical project. Together, we founded MUSIC FROM THE DARK.

Max Tosi and I started playing together when we were 15, and he couldn’t be anything but the perfect companion — an outstanding drummer and arranger — for this new adventure.

In recent years, another longtime friend, Mattia Facchini, joined us. He’s doing an excellent job on lead guitar as well as arranging alongside the rest of the band.

 

I’d like to tell you about the essence of the tracks that make up our first EP.

“FOREVER NIGHT”

It expresses a deep existential pain and the definitive end of a toxic relationship marked by loneliness and ruin. An inevitable acceptance of the end, where shadows and darkness take over every remaining hope.

“A relentless search for the final goodbye… a pain capable of carrying you toward a new dawn or sinking you into an eternal night.”

 

“CRY FOR YOU”

It speaks of the loneliness you feel when something important — something that was part of your life — disappears forever. You desperately try to hold onto it so you don’t lose it, even though you already know that dream has faded. Yet you still find the strength to stand up and start living again.

 

“BLOOD DRESS”

One of the most intense tracks of the EP, blending punk‑rock‑goth elements with lyrical female vocals (Betty). The song explores themes of passion and pain, told through the voice of a man who has fallen into a path of misery and solitude.

 

“MY SECRET SUICIDE”

Our first single — a track we deeply care about — deals with the theme of an emotional, mental suicide… not a physical one.

A constant restarting from the beginning, resetting and letting the mind die. At that point, at “zero,” everything is allowed to decay, and from there a true rebirth begins.

 

Lastly, I’d like to thank everyone who helped us along this journey.

I want to thank all the musicians who played on our new EP, and a special thanks goes to Daniele and Stefano from Music Inside Studio (MO).

A huge thank‑you also goes to Mr. Jack from Waniykia Records, who believed in us from the very beginning, and to other realities like Thunder Rock, who helped us share our songs with so many people around the world.

Thanks to all this, we’ve received a lot of positive feedback that’s giving us the energy to keep moving forward with our project.

I can only confirm what I’ve already said about Music From The Dark in previous reviews…

If you’re into dark atmospheres, get ready for a journey through the fog with only a faint candle to guide you — but…

“Forever Night,” a track torn between wanting to forget someone or remembering them forever, enters as one of the most Gothic/Doom Metal songs ever (Type O Negative rules…) only to immediately throw you off balance.

Let’s start by saying that Marco’s voice leans much more toward the dark tones of The Cure and Sisters of Mercy, which shifts everything into a more 80s‑style environment — yet it blends incredibly well with the rest, which leans toward 90s Emo/Gothic with unexpected Grunge reminiscences (hard to believe, but true).

But the real gem inside this track is the addition of children’s choir parts (yes, you read that right), which together with everything else reminded me of Mother Love Bone…

Maybe it’s just me, but either way it adds something truly original and less gloomy — and that candle accompanying you suddenly lights up the way out, helping you let go of the person who’s gone.

If you’re curious to listen to the rest of the EP, get in touch with MUSIC FROM THE DARK, because another surprise is that their CD was released as a limited digipack edition, and for one of the best Dark/Doom revelations in Italy, it’s absolutely worth getting.
